During my recent trip to Devon, I visited Castle Drogo, the last castle to be built in Britain.
It’s a strange place. The decor gives a nod to Ye Olde Medieval Castle with bits of Art Deco thrown in for good measure. And it’s pretty drafty given that it was only built in the last century.
I did like the way the castle was styled. There were lots of little details in every corner. 20s music playing on a gramophone, books left lying as though someone had just been reading them and laundry hanging to dry in a linen closet. And the gardens were beautiful.
