Laura and Chris’ beautiful Villa Catignano wedding in Tuscany

To say I was excited about Laura and Chris’ wedding in Tuscany would be an understatement. I’d never been to Italy before and I’d heard that Tuscany was beautiful, but I wasn’t in any way prepared for quite how pretty it actually was. On the long drive from Pisa to the villa that Laura and Chris had hired for the weekend I saw rolling hills, rustic stone cottages and miles upon miles of vineyards.

As I said in a previous blog post, there is something very sculptural about the landscape and when it’s overcast everything takes on blue, grey and purple hues. It might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen and it made a wonderful backdrop for Laura and Chris’ wedding.

Laura and Chris and a huge group of their friends and family spent the whole weekend celebrating their marriage in Villa Catignano just outside of Sienna.

They were married in a pretty local church and then headed back to the villa for a laid back drinks reception, dinner and then dancing late into the night. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days with them and they, along with their friends and family, are such a warm and friendly group of people. I was made to feel very welcome.

Being Laura and Chris’ wedding photographer was an absolute pleasure. Everything about their day was beautiful and elegant or relaxed and fun.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs McHugh and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding.
