Jessie and Mark’s amazing DIY midsummer fete wedding

I don’t even know how to begin to describe the effort that Jessie and Mark put into their London wedding.

Nearly every little thing you see in every single one of these pictures was made by Jessie, Mark or one of their friends and family. All of the food, the home made jam favours, the splat-the-alien, the giant lego figures, the shooting gallery, the cakes, the backdrop for the cake tables…the list goes on and on.

Their friends crafted, entered a cake baking contest, played music, brought oddly shaped vegetables, guessed the name of a bear, won prizes in a tombola, ate, drank and were very merry indeed. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Jessie and Mark were married at Richmond Registry Office and they held their fete at Avenue Halls in Kew. Jessie wore a gorgeous Candy Anthony dress and Mark accessorised his suit with a pair of Batman converse.

Mark, Jessie and their friends and family worked phenomenally hard to create something special, unique and really personal to them. It was very, very cool and so much fun.

A huge congratulations to Mark and Jessie. It was a joy to be your wedding photographer and thanks so much to Carla Thomas for 2nd shooting for me on the day.
