If you follow me on Facebook you might have seen that I made the London regional Shortlist for The Wedding Industry Awards, in the Best Wedding Photographer category. Given that my business has been going for such a short time, the strength of the competition and the fact that the shortlist was drawn up entirely based on feedback from past clients I am immensely proud of this achievement.

I didn’t win for the London area so I’ve now been provided with the scores and feedback from my previous customers. Honestly, the results blew me away. I am so pleased that my clients have been so happy with both the service I provided to them, as well as their photography.

They scored me an average of 9.7/10 across all of the questions and I scored an average of 9.8 for ‘Ability of your photographer to understand, interpret and realise your vision and ideas’ and I got an amazing score of 10/10 for my customer service and client communication.

Thank you so much to everyone that voted. I can’t thank you enough and I loved working with each and every one of you. It was a pleasure to be your wedding photographer and you’ve all made my 2012 more than a little bit brilliant.

Here are some of the amazing comments that those who voted left for me:

“Laura really ‘got’ our vision of a laid-back, quirky, friendly day. She went out of her way to look for an awesome space for our couples pics, stayed way later than she was meant to, and handled my huge, crazy family with aplomb. Her pictures are beautiful; they pop with colour, light and happiness.”

“We were totally thrilled by the contribution Laura made to our wedding. We gelled fantastically from the first meeting and she understood and was excited by our vision for our day. She blended in with our guests & delivered an amazing set of pictures that perfectly capture the quirkiness of our day”

“Laura was an absolutely brilliant photographer both during the wedding build up and on the day. Not only did she produce beautiful photographs for us, but she made us feel so comfortable we were able to be as silly ‘on film’ as we are in private.”

“Laura is simply brilliant. She captured what the day was all about and they pictures are stunning.”

“Laura was very professional, communication was excellent and was able to capture moments and emotions on the day. Laura has an eye and attention to detail. She is a talented young lady who will go far and will definitely recommend her to others”

“From the outset we liked Laura; fun and friendly, completely understood our vision and was a perfect creative fit. I was impressed with the personal customer service we received and on the day I was mostly unaware of her presence yet she got a wide coverage and captured the heart of our wedding day”

“Laura was lovely! She put us at ease immediatly, understood exactly what we wanted from our photos & excelled our expectations. She thinks outside the box with her photography & with the marketing of herself. You feel like she goes that extra mile for you.”

“given 10/10 for each option as Laura really did delivery on all these things. So approachable, we 1st met and didn’t have a clue what we wanted and she just took control of everything and guided us along the process, before and on the day. We felt we hardly saw her on day – yet had all these fab photos.”

“She not only made two very camera shy people feel at ease in front of the lens but her and her lovely second shooter on our big day (her future husband Pete) felt more like friends than strangers. Communication was always excellent and she presents everything so beautifully even her admin!”

“I really can’t say enough about Laura. With the posed photos she was firm but understanding in the organising, and for the natural photos she almost glided around without being in the least bit intrusive. The end result was a mixture of amazing posed shots, as well as some lovely natural frames.”

“A champagne reception in St Paul’s Crypt, then a tradtional London pub ‘pints and pies’ reception to follow. Laura captured our own personalities and the charm of each venue perfectly. Guests still talk about how well she handled them, as well as the tourists fighting her for the best photo spot!”

“Laura was perfect to have around on our wedding day. They fitted in and got on with what we had discussed before hand. She had a real understanding of us as people and what we ultimately wanted from our forever photos. So many people have said that ours are the best wedding pics they’ve ever seen.”

“I could not be happier with choosing Laura as our photographer, she was amazing and the photos are stunning. Honestly, there is not one thing I would change about them. Laura is an absolute joy to have around on your day, so friendly and unassuming. Laura has an amazing talent for taking photos!”

  1. Huge congratulations. I think a competition being entirely based on client feedback is truly the best way to judge an industry like this – one that relies so heavily on getting to know the client, being personable, responding well to their feedback, doing exactly what they want for the big day, as well as inspiring them with your photography, and giving them those all-too important memories to cherish!
